Al-Amal Women’s And Sociocultural Foundation has launched a training events entitled (Activate Protection Mechanisms for Women Human Rights Defenders, targeting women observers of Human Rights violations against women defenders and members of the” Together 4Her Network”.
Twenty women observers are participating in the course of Women Peacemakers Project, which aims to observe the violations resulting from the conflict in Yemen and is funded by DT Institute. The project aims to build the capacity of women observers and workers in “Together 4Her Network” to observe, documentation and report violations against women human rights defenders in Hadramout city.
The project manager, Dr. Abha Ba’awidan, explained that this refresher and training events targets is aimed at a number of women observers in the Network, to improve their protection and provide them with protection mechanisms when defending human rights or observing cases of human right violations committed by women defenders in society.
The training covered a number of important points, including national and international laws protecting the rights of women human rights defenders and provide models for defenders whose rights were violated during their human rights defense.
A detailed explanation of the observing forms for monitoring violations against women defenders and methods for handing the data contained therein, as well as a detailed explanation of the Foundation’s reporting policy and informed consent.
Dr. Abha Ba’awidan pointed out that the project will last 19 months and will include a number of different activities aimed at monitoring violations for the purpose of justice for Yemeni within the Justice 4yemen pact.
